I like to write in my spare time. I am no Bradbury but I do my best. Most of my writing and ideas are Science Fiction as with my reading habits. I do like Autobiographies a lot also.

Musical Dirge

Music is my life. I play several instruments and write when I can. I love all kinds but Metal is dear to my heart. I can’t imagine a life without music.

My World

This is about my life and views of the world. A lot of it is dedicated to my wife and my son. The two greatest things I have ever known.

Popular Culture

This is just about things like Rubiks cubes, video games, movies and other totally retarded stuff in our world.

Mappy

I always wanted to own an arcade game. There were so many that it’s hard to choose just one and when you play some they just aren’t how you remember them. I used to stop at the Texaco sometimes and play a game called Mappy. From the beginning I fell in love with this game. Then one day it was gone.

We didn’t have a lot of money so it wasn’t like I could get dropped off at the arcade. There wasn’t one we could walk to either. It was the corner 7-11, Texaco, or ABCO. Of course there was a rotation of games over time. Donkey Kong, Dragon’s Lair, Mappy were a few. After watching The King of Kong documentary I started thinking again about getting an arcade machine but which one? That’s easy. Mappy.

Mappy is a simple game. You are a mouse cop and you must retrieve stolen items from a gang of cats. Just run through the house and get the items back. It is horizontal play and you use trampolines to get to different levels of the house. I am playing it on Wii Virtual Console which essentially the exact game because it is from the ROM. Of course you need a real machine to go for a respectable record.

I found a Mappy machine in California for $185 bucks. I just don’t have a truck so that’s a problem but sooner or later I will get one. I think it will probably become an addiction.
